V&A Waterfront
I'm sure the V&A is one of the most stunning waterfronts in the world ~ with a backdrop that includes Signal Hill & Table Mountain it has a spectacular setting & as a destination, it's a major tourist magnet. The waterfront was opened in 1993 (I stand to correction on this date) & we had a store there called Wylde Oscar, a fabulous clothing store selling shirts, dresses & much in between...sort of twisted classics ...very popular. We couldn't maintain though as the rental was exorbitant & trade in winter pulled us down badly, so we shut shop & moved onto other things for a while. And then bluecollarwhitecollar was born & it continues in good retail health ~ we're so grateful for that.
More about the V&A c/o Wikipedia: The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in the historic heart of Cape Town's working harbour is South Africa's most-visited destination, having the highest rate of foreign tourists of any attraction in the country. Situated between Robben Island and Table Mountain and set against a backdrop of sea and mountain views, it offers a variety of shopping and entertainment options to visitors, intermingled with office locations, the Somerset Hospital, hotels (such as the historical Breakwater Lodge - once a 19th century prison) and luxury apartments in the residential marina....see more online @VandAWaterfront
