An urban farm in Cape Town turns 1 !

What a day for a party! Stunning weather greeted the day (Sat 2 Nov) after a week of miz, damp and rainy days, and then, true to Cape Town form, it is suddenly summer, again - long may it last! The Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) in Upper Orange Street celebrated its first birthday- a festive time for all. I did a bit of snapping of this and that, the prettiness that is everywhere. Come see for yourself how fabulous this market is, every Saturday from 09h00 until early afternoon. It's situated right opposite Carlucci's at the top of Upper Orange-you can't (and don't want to) miss it.

I love the detail on the vendors' tables...

Buy a T-shirt.. the brand is amazing...

The Great Dane is divine but look at the drops of water that found their way into the pic...

Volunteer in the garden...see the website/FB page for deets...

Have some strudel...

Table detail...

Part of the old slave bell...

Rose amongst the camembert...

Pincushion proteas...

Our mavellous earth..tread lightly on it...

The Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) is a neighbourhood non-profit project celebrating local food, culture and community. On turning 1, Sheryl Ozinsky said: "It's been a year and look how far we've come. A flourishing and productive farm, hundreds of volunteers, the start of an education programme, communities across SA talking about doing similar projects in their own communities, two full time farm assistants, a vibrant market, thousands of Facebook likes and ambitious plans for the future". www.ozcf.co.za / https://www.facebook.com/OZCFarm

Let's go farming in the City!
