My pretty mother Heather, turning 70 next month would you believe!

Rhodes Memorial

Rhodes Memorial today, with my mom Heather Foat, for breakfast. I had the most average B&E at the tea garden in like forever...I realized again how much I hate mediocrity...it takes so little effort to present food well...no excuse to plop food onto a plate in such a dull, unappealing way. Culinary fail! -5 stars

Rhodes Memorial for those of you not from Cape Town, is a huge monument above the University of Cape Town that has a fabulous birds eye view of a section of the city...large statues of lions and Cecil John Rhodes on his steed, & the tea garden of course, that is perfect for just that..tea!

Reality check

Reality check: A recent survey said 42 percent of children in India under age 5 are underweight - almost double that of sub-Saharan Africa; this means 3,000 children are dying daily due to illnesses related to poor diets - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has admitted that malnutrition is "a national shameā€¯ and was putting the health of the nation in jeopardy.

For those of us who have what we need, let's do what we can to give where we can ...meet a need where you can...one person at a time...
