Meanderings in Greyton...
What an exquisite morning in Greyton. As I left the fabulous Lord Pickleby B&B, the first thing I saw was horses, walking slowly down the street....on their own, no riders, stopping here & there to destroy someone's hedge. Apparently quite the norm, so a local told me when I told him,in a mild panic, that there were horses on the loose. After breakfast at The Posthouse (same owners as The Lord Pickleby) I toured the town...stopping by so many fab spots ~I had a very good coffee at Searles, where I also picked up some guava preserves & olive oil; fabulous wares at Vintage & Vogue; chocolates at Von Gesau; fresh juice from Darling, darling, at the lovely Vanilla Cafe. Have a delish milkshake at the Oak & Vigne - it was great to see the owner Coenie Visser again ( ps Coenie, the auto spell on my iPad has changed Visser to issue & I cant seem to fix it!! Jammer! pls forgive moi!).
There's such a tranquil atmosphere in Greyton. It's not frenetic like Franschhoek & I much prefer it. We are so blessed to have such amazing places surrounding Cape Town...truly amazing....have a look at my pics below. And to the People From Afar, make this village a must-see on your To Do list....
