Chicken Pie for Lunch...Tamboers Winkel...

So this is a fave place of mine, Tamboers Winkel, in the area of the same name, Tamboerskloof, which lies on the slopes of Lion's Head and Signal Hill, adjacent to the neighbourhoods of Gardens and Bo-Kaap. This deli has only been open about a year & it's tres popular. The menu offers easy food like salads with artichokes or beet root or chickpea & bocconcini; sandwiches (we call them sarmies) & steak rolls; cheese plates & amazing breakfasts....& decadent red velvet cupcakes that are oh-so-hard-to-resist. The coffee brand is Deluxe & the barista is on the ball so my flat white is smooth like I must have it. Stop by for fabulous fare - they trade daily & are open at night as well, Wednesday through Friday. Hark- a later day glass of vino with a cheese platter on the side seems to be calling my name...
