Great coffee discovered in Bangkok ~ at last

Yesterday had us exploring a very cool area in Bangkok called Thonglor where we came across the Stockholm Espresso Bar, a stylish little coffee shop. Lateral Paul (Paul van der Spuy) was in his element as he had finally had his first really good coffee in the city - he'd been searching for it for quite some time. It's fair to say he is addicted to his daily shot of caffeine & he knows a good bean when he sips it. We had great service from the friendly staff at the Stockholm Espresso Bar & were privileged to meet the owner Bee who runs the place with her Swedish husband Håkan Nylander. They are going to visit Cape Town she says - we'll have them trying the top coffee spots in no time! Try the delish Swedish snacks & patisseries on offer- I loved the heart shaped waffles (a lovely touch) served with banana drizzled with honey & garnished with fluffy cream. Länge leve gott kaffe!

From the inside, looking out....

Heart shaped waffles, who can resist?

An unusual light fixture...

To get there, take the BTS to Thong Lo & take a cab to 936/1 Soi Thonglor, Sukhumvit Road. They're on Facebook so like them there & when you've downed the last drop of your well brewed coffee, write something lovely on Tripadvisor... happy coffee moments to you & sawasdee pee Mai....it's Songkran from tomorrow !
