A jungle walk & a waterfall, on Koh Phangan...
This was meant to be a hike up to the viewpoint at the top...we've done it before so when Oscar realised he was in his Havaiainas and not his sneakers, it was no biggie to have abort the 250m trek up the jungle path. Not that I was complaining...in this December humidity I felt more like a casual stroll under the tree canopy.
Phaeng Waterfall, on the road to Chaloklum, is one of 5 on Koh Phangan island, and it's at it's best in early December, right after the monsoon rains. It's not that big but it's a beaut backdrop to the walk that meanders more and more steeply up the mountain until you reach the summit and a great view over the island.
Water falling over rocks...
Saplings, roots and rocks...
Reminds me a lot of Newlands Forest back home in Cape Town...
The first pool...
