An Iconic Bookstore ~ Kalk Bay Books

"Read a little, you'll live more curiously..." True story. Kalk Bay Books, on the Main Road, is one of the Mother City's most iconic book stores. It's got that olde worlde feeling without being stuffy or pretentious. For me, buying a book there is not just about getting a good read- it's an experience, a destination. You can't go to Kalk Bay without stopping by for a literary fix & if in doubt as to which pages shall be yours, Ann Donald & her team are there to advise & you'll most likely leave with a few good choices wrapped up in a brown paper packet. From what I hear, the book shop was built around 1913. The building reminds me of a Herbert Baker design, although the architect was John Parker & back in the day, the building used to be known as Die Klipkantienjie. A lot of history right there. www.kalkbaybooks.co.za | @kalkbaybooks | 0217882266
