The weird & wonderful...street food at Phantip night market, KohPhangan...
The Phantip night market in Tongsala Road, Saturdays from 16h to 23h, is one of my best things to do on KP. A very cool vibe- street stalls selling everything from amazing voile shirts (I scooped up a few for ZAR15/50B each!), to stylish cellphone covers, hair accessories, sneakers, coconut oils, Thai wrap pants and of course food, food, food! Thailand excels at street food and this market doesn't disappoint and is a seriously fantastic culinary experience. The smells wafting through the easy breeze tempt you to try (almost) everything (no fried larvae for me today thanks). We tried a delish looking omelette last night with sprouts, coconut, minced pork and sweet chili sauce and went back for 3 more. That, with a fresh pineapple shake to chase it down made for 3 very satisfied farangs from Africa.
Looking at these images, don't even ask what's what...most of the stall owners are only Thai speaking so getting info re what I was about to put in my mouth was a tall order. Let the pics do the talking...use your imagination*
