Lord Neethling Restaurant, Stellenbosch

Fabulous surprise yesterday when my Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards client took me to lunch at the Lord Neethling (pronounced Neatling) restaurant, on the beautiful Neethlingshof wine estate. That long driveway through the tall trees is quite something...so beautiful. The food was delicious, prepared by chef Reinhard Nanny. All 3 of us had the mild prawn & chicken curry with soft old fashioned rice, paired with the superb Neethlingshof Gewürztraminer. Creme Brûlée & a red cappucino for dessert & I almost rolled out the door. People from Afar, put on your To Do list when you come to Cape Town! Luke, then & now...

My eldest son Luke wrote his last Matric exam yesterday at Camps Bay High & thus ended his school career of 12 years. He has been so blessed to be at all 3 Camps Bay Schools & have (for the most part, give or take one or two less-than- fabulous- borderline revolting teachers) an incredible school career. Now for the next adventures....bring on tomorrow!

This was astounding...seeing a group of Chinese tourists admiring their Cartier & Rolex purchases from a high end jewellery store, today at the Waterfront...they must've dropped R200k at that store. As Oscar said, "go big or go home!"

Started out with a bit of 10 pin bowling in ye oldest 10 pin bowling alley in the Southern Hemisphere #truestory . Afterwards it was tasting & food pairing time...12 locally brewed craft beers, all good & a few totally excellent: the Devils Peak Blockhouse was my favourite. @LeagueOfBeers @FoodBlogCT

La Boheme, Breakfast

A completely superb French toast breakfast was had by moi this morning. The bacon was crisped to perfection, with yummy sautéed banana & pieces of croissant that had been dipped lightly in egg. The coffee wasn't good though- it made me feel nauseous...why does that happen? The texture was thin...if that makes any sense at all? I did mention it & was given a second cup but I couldn't manage it after the filling meal. Love La Boheme nevertheless...you must go. @LaBoheme_Cpt

Marc Lottering, top SA comedian

I'm very fortunate to have some of South Africa's top comedians as clients...Marc Lottering is one of them. He is hilarious, which is crucial I expect - haha! He opened his new season of his hit show I Don't Work on Sundays, at the Baxter Theatre last night...the audience loved it. Never mind he was wearing a deadly satin suit in a magnificent shade of grey, I mean green :) he does touch on 50 Shades of Grey in the show btw. Follow him @MarcLottering & if in Cape Town, make a turn for a night of Funny, at the Baxter, nightly until 5 January 2013.
